Canada’s First Internship Program for Recent Immigrants Launched

Career Bridge is an innovative program that offers paid internships for internationally-qualified recent immigrants:

• Who are pre-screened for language skills and education credentials,
• With at least a Bachelor's level education,
• With a minimum of 3 years international work experience,
• Who are newly arrived in Canada, and;
• Are ready and qualified to apply their skills to the Canadian workplace.

The Career Bridge (http://www.careerbridge.ca) program addresses the long-term concern that Canadian businesses often overlook or underutilize the talents of qualified people who are recent arrivals from abroad. It helps employers across all industry sectors fill a wide range of professional and managerial opportunities.

The program is designed and managed by Career Edge (http://www.careeredge.ca), Canada's Internship Organization and is built on the organization's highly successful internship model. Career Edge has, since 1996, helped 6,000 graduates find entry-level employment in over 900 organizations.
